Investors happy with exit poll results, capital gains of Rs 13.73 lakh crore, 13 sector indices including PSU-Power on top

Stock Market Boom: After the expected results of the Lok Sabha Election 2024 exit polls i.e. the assurance of the return of the Modi government, the stock market has seen an aggressive rally today. Investors' capital has increased by Rs. 13.73 lakh crore in a single day today. Amidst the global bullish environment, the total portfolio of investors has averaged a return of 5 to 10 percent during today's trading session. The market cap of BSE is Rs 426.10 lakh crore.

All indexes including Sensex and Nifty are at all-time high

The two major indices of the Indian stock market, Sensex and Nifty 50, reached an all-time high with a bumper jump. Apart from this, 9 indices including PSU, Smallcap, Midcap have been recorded at the highest level. Metal and Realty indices also reached 52-week highs. After touching an all-time high of 76738.89 points, the Sensex closed 2507.47 points higher at 76468.78. Nifty closed 733.20 points higher at 23263.90 points. Earlier in January 2021, the Sensex had registered a gain of more than 2000 points. After that, such a big jump has been registered for the first time after 3 years. Energy, financial services, telecom, auto, banks, capital goods, consumer durables, oil and gas, power indices reached an all-time high today.

PSU stocks rise

PSU stocks saw a jump of up to 20 percent today. Shares of GAIL, PFC, REC, Bank of Baroda, Central Bank of India closed with a jump of 11.64 percent to 13 percent. With this, the BSE PSU index closed at 22491.49, up 7.67 percent.

Upper circuit in 371 stocks

Today, a total of 4115 stocks traded on BSE closed with a gain and 1615 closed with a loss. In which 371 stocks hit upper circuit and 306 stocks hit lower circuit.
