Investors' earnings in the stock market, capital increased by 7 lakh crores, Sensex-Nifty at all-time high | News India

Stock Market Closing: On the back of strong global factors, the Indian stock market witnessed a great rally today and the Sensex managed to cross the record level of 83000. Nifty also touched a high of 25433. With this, investors' capital has seen an increase of Rs. 7.47 lakh crore today.

In today's post 2.00 pm trading session, the Sensex rose by an impressive 1593 points to a record high of 83116.19. It finally closed at 82962.71 with a jump of 1439.55 points. Nifty closed at 25388.90, up 470.45 points.

An atmosphere of ubiquitous turmoil

There was a general rise in the stock market. The index rose by 2 percent due to gains in auto, metal and energy stocks. Telecom index remained on top with a gain of 2.61 percent. FMCG, Healthcare, Consumer Durables, Technology indices rose more than 1 percent today and reached record highs. Midcap closed up 1.32 percent and Smallcap closed up 0.79 percent.

Market breadth positive

Out of a total of 4069 stocks traded on the BSE, 2337 stocks closed in favor of improvement and 1609 stocks closed in favor of decline. 278 stocks reached one-year high and 36 stocks reached one-year low. All 29 stocks in the Sensex, except Nestle, closed with a gain of 4.36 percent. Nestle closed down by 0.09 percent. Vinod Nair, Head of Research, Geojit Financial Services, said that globally, the possibility of interest rate cut by ECB and Fed Reserve has strengthened and a universal boom has been seen in the stock market. Apart from this, the market also got support from positive inflation and IIP data at the domestic level.
