
The objective of Deputy Chief Minister Shri Keshav Prasad Maurya ji is to strengthen the food processing sector of the state government, increase the income of farmers and create new employment opportunities in rural areas. It was informed in the meeting that 12 new investment proposals received on the online portal till June 15, 2026 were presented before the committee. After detailed testing and technical evaluation, all the 12 proposals were recommended to be presented before the State Level Empowered Committee (SLEQ) with necessary conditions.
These investment proposals include mustard oil mill expansion, cattle feed manufacturing unit, groundnut processing project, salty and confectionary production unit, installation of solar power plants in food processing units, bakery product expansion project, cold storage and frozen food expansion, salty and sweet production unit, multigrain flour manufacturing and renewable energy based food processing projects.
Additional Chief Secretary said that the implementation of investment proposals as per the instructions of the Deputy Chief Minister will give new impetus to the food processing industry in the state. Farmers will get better prices for their produce, value addition of agricultural products will increase at the local level and strong coordination will be established between agriculture and industry. With this, a large number of direct and indirect employment opportunities will be created and the rural economy will be strengthened.
He said that the state government is providing favorable policy environment to make the food processing sector attractive for investment. Today, Uttar Pradesh is becoming one of the major investment destinations of the country and the interest of investors in the food processing sector is also increasing continuously.
