Bhopal, 20 May (HS). Major irregularities have also come to light in the investigation of Madhya Pradesh's nursing scam. The CBI, which is investigating the nursing college fraud, has taken major action against its own officers, middlemen and others who were trying to give a clean chit to the colleges. CBI had conducted raids in Madhya Pradesh and Rajasthan on Saturday and Sunday. A case has been registered against 23 people in this. At the same time, 13 people including four CBI officers were arrested. They were presented before the court. The court handed everyone over to CBI on remand till May 29.
CBI has informed on Monday that on the instructions of Madhya Pradesh High Court, seven core teams of CBI and ACB Bhopal were formed to investigate the nursing colleges of the state. At the same time, three to four other teams were formed to help in the investigation. The team included CBI officials, nominated members of Madhya Pradesh Nursing College and Patwari. The task of this team was to examine, on the instructions of the High Court, whether the nursing colleges meet the norms and standards prescribed for nursing colleges with respect to infrastructure and faculty.
Inspector Rahul Raj was caught first
Different teams were investigating this. During this time, CBI Inspector Rahul Raj was suspected to be involved in corruption activities. Rahul Raj was in collusion with the college operators involved in the nursing scam by preparing reports in their favor and taking bribes in return. After this, the internal vigilance team of CBI became active and registered a case against 23 people. Three CBI officers including Inspector Rahul Raj are also involved in this. After this, CBI arrested Rahul Raj while taking a bribe of Rs 10 lakh. Also, bribe giver Anil Bhaskaran and his wife Suma Anil Bhaskaran were also caught.
CBI's Delhi team raided 31 places in Bhopal, Indore, Ratlam and Jaipur of Rajasthan. During this, CBI seized Rs 2 crore 33 lakh in cash, four gold biscuits, 36 digital devices and 150 documents related to the case.
CBI said that 13 accused have been arrested in the case, these include Rahul Raj, Inspector CBI, Sushil Kumar Majoka, Inspector MP Police, who is associated with CBI and Om Goswami, Ravi, who is working as a broker. Bhadauria and Jugal Kishore and three women have been arrested. All the arrested accused were presented before the court, who were sent to CBI custody till May 29. CBI has also started administrative action against officers involved in bribery.
Clean chit given to 169 nursing colleges, complete investigation in question after bribery scandal
After CBI inspector Rahul Raj was arrested for taking a bribe of Rs 10 lakh, all the investigations of the colleges conducted so far have come under question. The High Court had handed over the investigation of 364 colleges to the CBI, out of which the CBI has completed the investigation of 318 colleges and submitted the report to the High Court. CBI has given a clean chit to 169 of these colleges. On the basis of this report, the High Court had asked the Directorate of Medical Education to restore the recognition of these colleges.
