Ranchi, August 28 (HS). After the clash between RIMS medical students and the Home Guard deployed for the security of RIMS on Tuesday, junior doctors boycotted work and protested on Wednesday. After this, a meeting was held with RIMS administrative officials, police administration officials and student representatives. In the meeting, detailed information was taken about the fight between RIMS medical students and Home Guard soldiers.
It has been informed through the City SP and Director RIMS that RIMS is a sensitive place where security is always required, therefore it is necessary for both the departments to work in mutual harmony. The City SP took information related to CCTV for monitoring security in the institute. Also, the management requested the SP to make the institute encroachment free. At the same time, it was decided to get the broken boundary wall behind Hostel No. 8 constructed in the presence of the police administration. Decisions were taken to strengthen the security of RIMS and to prevent this incident of assault.
Also, it was decided to form an impartial investigation committee in connection with the incident of fight between medical students and Home Guard Corps soldiers. The committee will conduct an impartial investigation within two days and action will be taken against those found guilty. In the light of the complaint of medical students in the meeting, a security complaint redressal committee has been formed. Ranchi City SP, RIMS Additional Medical Superintendent, DSP Sadar, and District Commandant of Home Guard Corps will be its members. RIMS Director Prof (Dr) Raj Kumar, Ranchi City SP Rajkumar Mehta, Dr Vidyapati, Dr Shashi Bala Singh, Medical Superintendent Dr Hirendra Birua, Additional Medical Superintendent Shailesh Tripathi, Dr Shiv Priya, Dr Manoj Kumar and others were present in the meeting.
