Hooghly, March 16 (HS). An international conference of snake experts was concluded on Saturday in Bandel of Hooghly district in which snake experts from Nepal, Bhutan, Sri Lanka and Bangladesh participated. The main objective of the conference was to save snakes and humans so that no one dies due to snake bite.
Ajit Babu, sales executive of the organisation's Bandel branch, said the “Save Snake, Save Human” program has entered its third year.
Mohammad Nizamur Rahman, who came from Chittagong in neighboring country Bangladesh, said that this campaign is run not only in West Bengal but also in Bangladesh to make the common people aware. Many people die of fear after seeing a snake. If someone is bitten by a snake, then first go to the doctor, not to the exorcist. If the patient is taken to the doctor without killing the snake, he can be saved from death and the snake is also saved.
Dr. Bandhu Majumdar, Mizarul Rahman, geological expert Dr. Subrata Mandal, many other doctors and snake experts from all the districts of West Bengal were present in the meeting.
