Reasi, September 11 (HS). The inter-district divisional level girls athletic meet organized by the Youth Services and Sports Department started here on Wednesday.
Deputy Commissioner (DC) Vishesh Mahajan was the chief guest at the inaugural ceremony. He lauded the commendable performance of the girl athletes and said that their athletic skills reflected the true essence of Nari Shakti and youth development.
250 girl athletes from 10 districts of Jammu division participated in the athletic meet organized for girls under-14, under-17 and under-19. The meet was a true display of competitive spirit and athletic prowess in which all the participants displayed remarkable sportsmanship. The event also gave the message of voter awareness under SVEEP and people of Reasi were urged to vote in the upcoming elections.
The programme also laid a strong foundation for the students for their future success in sports. The programme was attended by DYSSO Reasi Tarsem Singh, Physical Education teachers and field staff of DYSS from various districts of Jammu Division.
