Lucknow, 24 September. To make the consolidation process in Uttar Pradesh more transparent and fair, the Yogi government has directed officials to strictly follow the rules in matters related to the process and to save farmers from unnecessary trouble.
According to the instructions of Consolidation Commissioner Dr. Hrishikesh Bhaskar Yashod, under Section 6(1) of the Uttar Pradesh Land Consolidation Act-1953, if the consolidation process in a village ends, the jurisdiction of the Consolidation Officers will also end. After completion of the process of Section 6(2), the pending cases will automatically be considered closed and all the records of the village will be immediately handed back to the Tehsil Administration.
Action will be taken if instructions are not followed
Along with this, instructions have been given to prepare certified lists of orders for final amendments in the records and send them to the Archives, Consolidation Office and Tehsil. If a case comes to the fore to cancel an order related to a village, it has been asked to immediately send it to the competent level. Strict action will be taken against consolidation officers and employees who do not follow the instructions.
Strictness even in judicial matters
The Consolidation Commissioner has also mentioned a complete ban on accepting new objections, references or reinstatement applications after the issue of Section 52(1). Citing a decision of the Lucknow bench of the Allahabad High Court, it has been made clear that reopening of cases after the prescribed procedure may be without jurisdiction and amount to contempt of court. Strict punitive action will be taken against officers who issue orders in violation of such rules.
