Gopeshwar, 16 October (Hindustan Reporter). The district administration has started preparations for the smooth and efficient conduct of the Nanda Devi Rajjat Yatra 2026, the longest trek in the Himalayas. On Wednesday, District Magistrate Chamoli Sandeep Tiwari held a meeting of all the concerned departmental officers as per the instructions of the government regarding the organization of the yatra. During this, he gave necessary directions to the officials regarding the improvement of travel routes and construction works to be done for the convenience of passengers.
The District Magistrate instructed District Tourism Officer Brijendra Pandey to prepare a proposal for the work to be done on the Yatra route on the basis of departmental efficiency. He also ordered to prepare proposals along with selection of land for construction works and to establish mutual coordination among the officers and provide proposals with justification. For the works to be done on the Yatra route, instructions were given to contact the village head, area Panchayat members as well as public representatives and propose the schemes on priority basis.
Chief Development Officer Nandan Kumar, Additional District Magistrate Vivek Prakash, besides Deputy District Magistrate and Block Development Officer were present in the meeting through virtual medium.
