This year, institutional investment in the real estate industry reached a record high with a massive growth of 51 percent compared to the previous year. This year, more deals have also been done for institutional investment in real estate.
As per available data, institutional investment in the real estate industry is estimated to be $8.9 billion in 2024. Which is 51 percent more than last year’s investment of $5.8 billion. Besides, this is also a record institutional investment so far. Earlier in 2007, a record investment of $8.4 billion was made. Which is 6 percent more institutional investment this year. This year, 78 deals have been done in this sector, which is 47 percent more than last year.
Institutional investment in real estate accounted for the largest share of foreign investment this year. According to the data, 63 percent of the total institutional investment this year was from foreign investors, 37 percent of the investment was made by the domestic industry. Most of the foreign investment came from America. America’s share in the total investment was 26 percent.
In general, institutional investment in the real estate industry is highest in the office sector. But this year, for the first time, the residential sector has overtaken the office sector in this matter. According to the report, the share of residential sector in the total institutional investment was the highest at 45 percent, while the share of office sector was 28 percent. Warehousing sector is in third place with 23 percent share.
