Innocent Chetna was taken out of the borewell after 220 hours, but could not save her life.

Three-year-old innocent Chetna, who fell into a borewell in Kotputli, Rajasthan, lost the battle of life. He was pulled out of the borewell on Wednesday, January 1, 2025, after a 220-hour rescue operation. He was immediately taken to the hospital, but the doctors declared him dead. The girl’s body is being sent for post-mortem.

On 23 December 2024, Chetna had fallen into a borewell in Badiyali village of Kotputli, Rajasthan. After the incident, teams of administration, SDRF and NDRF continued to save the girl.

Rescue operation lasted for 10 days

• Rescue Operation:
  • The rescue operation continued for 10 days.
  • SDRF and NDRF personnel, fire brigade, JCB, and Municipal Council employees were deployed at the spot.
• Involvement of Officials:
  • Kotputli’s SP, ASP, DSP and officers from three police stations were present at the incident site.
• Efforts to save:
  • Every possible effort was made to save the girl, but the innocent could not be saved.

medical officer’s statement

Medical officer Chaitanya Rawat said:

• A separate bed was prepared in the hospital for the girl.
• As soon as Chetna was brought, the doctors examined her, but she was not alive.
• Post mortem:
  • Chetna’s post-mortem will be conducted on the orders of the Collector.
  • A team of three doctors will conduct post-mortem, which will reveal when and how the death occurred.

Second incident in a month

This incident has happened for the second time in Rajasthan within a month.

• Earlier, five year old Aryan had fallen into a borewell in Dausa.
• Aryan had also died.
