Initiative started to give state status to Areraj fair

East Champaran, August 05 (HS). An initiative has been started to grant the status of state fair to the Shravani fair and Anant Chaturdashi fair, which are organized for the water consecration of Someshwarnath Mahadev located in the famous Areraj of the district.

It is noteworthy that last week Govindganj MLA Sunil Mani Tiwari had raised a starred question in the Bihar Legislative Assembly regarding this, in response to which the report presented by CO Areraj has been recommended by SDO Areraj and sent to the District Magistrate Motihari. In the report sent by CO Areraj Uday Pratap Singh, the mythological, spiritual, cultural, historical and commercial importance of Areraj Dham has been mentioned in detail.

SDO Arun Kumar has sent the above mentioned report regarding the fair to the District Collector Motihari with a recommendation to include it in the State Fair Authority Committee. In such a situation, it is being speculated that soon Areraj Fair will get state status.
