Information given to vendors in the workshop to serve safe food | News India

Gopeshwar, 04 October (Hindustan Reporter). On behalf of Uttarakhand Food Safety Department and National Association of Street Vendors of India, NASVI organized a training workshop with street food vendors on the topic of serving safe food in the District Panchayat Auditorium on Friday. In which practical information was given about serving street food hygienically.

During the training, street food vendors and food businessmen were given information about food safety and hygiene. Vendors are advised to maintain personal hygiene, clean clothes, clean aprons and hair covering, cleanliness of work place, use of quality ingredients, no coloring or adulteration in food, no covering for preparing dishes while serving food and disposal of garbage. Information was given on how to use dustbin.

During the training, all the vendors were given food safety kit consisting of apron, cap, gloves, towel and duster. After the training, FOSTC certificates were also provided by FSSAI.

Trainer Siya Mishra, who came from Delhi, said that there is a provision for punishment and compensation on vendors for not following food safety. Therefore only quality food should be sold. The health and safety of the customer should be taken care of. This will also increase their employment.

In the training workshop, District Food Safety Officer Amitabh Joshi told all the participants who came in the training that this training will prove to be a guide for the food vendors.

Program coordinator NASVI Rajeev Upadhyay, District Health Education and Communication Officer Uday Singh Rawat and data entry operator Suraj Rawat etc. were present in the workshop.
