Saharsa, 23 June (HS). A workshop was organized on Sunday by Aditya Thakur, panel advocate of District Legal Services Authority, Saharsa and Mahishi police station in the premises of Bharti Mandan Mishra Dham, Mahishi, to provide information about the three new laws. Aditya Thakur said that from July 01, the Government of India is implementing three new criminal laws, which are Indian Civil Defense Code, 2023, Indian Justice Code, 2023 and Indian Evidence Act, 2023. In view of the need for training of advocates, police and judges on these three new laws, Aditya Thakur has started a workshop for advocates and law students from last Sunday, July 16.

Every Sunday, for one year continuously till 15th July 2025, we will organize workshops to provide training to advocates and law students. Mr Thakur informed that currently in the Indian Penal Code, 1860, there are provisions for punishment under 511 sections for committing a crime. Now, in the Indian Judicial Code, 2023, punishment will be given under 358 sections.

In place of Section 484 in the Code of Criminal Procedure, 1973, some sections have been added in the new law by making Section 531 in the Indian Civil Defense Code, 2023. And instead of 167 sections in the Indian Evidence Act, 1872, now there will be 170 sections in the Indian Evidence Act, 2023. Dozens of people including Hemant Raj, Dr. Baban Kumar Singh, Sakal Kumar Jha, Kundan Kumar Sada, Shivesh Kumar etc. participated in the workshop.
