Induction program organized for newly admitted students at NIT Raipur | News India

Raipur, 28 August (HS). An induction program was organized for the newly admitted B.Tech and B.Arch students at the National Institute of Technology (NIT) Raipur on Wednesday. This program was organized at Pandit Deendayal Upadhyay Auditorium. On this occasion, the Chairman of the Board of Governors of the Institute, Dr. Suresh Haware, and Director, Dr. N.V. Ramana Rao, were present. During this, Registrar, Dr. P Y Dhekne, all the Deans, other faculty and newly admitted students were present.

At the beginning of the programme, Director Dr. N.V. Ramana Rao gave a detailed description of the institute's facilities, achievements. He warmly welcomed the new students and wished them all the best for the future. He made the students aware of the discipline and value system of the institute.

Dr Suresh Haware, Chairman, Board of Governors, appreciated the achievements of the institute and motivated the students to work hard in their studies. He said, “Life is too short and every moment must be utilized”. He emphasized on improving communication and presentation skills and advised the students to make friends from different states. He ended his speech with an inspirational quote, “Let the sweat flow, let the hard work be done, it will give fragrance, hard work will pay off”.

Dean (Academics) Dr. Shreesh Verma gave information about various departments of the college, courses, academic calendar, registration process, credit and grading system and evaluation process. Dean (Student Welfare) Dr. Nitin Jain explained the objectives of establishment of NIT Raipur, its history and student clubs and committees. He introduced major events like Eclectica, Avartan, Samar, Shruti etc. Apart from this, information was given about cultural exchange between students of Nagaland and Raipur, dispensary and counseling services.

Later, Head, Department of Computer Science & Engineering, Dr. Pradeep Singh, explained the facilities of boys’ hostel, administrative structure and number of hostels available while Chief Warden, Dr. Shubhrata Gupta gave details of girls’ hostel facilities and welcomed the new students.
