Indore, July 14 (HS). Indore, the cleanest city in the country for the last seven years, has created another big record. Indore residents have registered their name in the Guinness Book of World Records by planting more than 11 lakh saplings in a single day. The Guinness Book of World Records has awarded the Madhya Pradesh government a certificate for planting the maximum number of saplings in a period of 24 hours. Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav received this certificate of world record in the name of Indore at Revati Range on Sunday evening.
Indore has set this record by planting a large number of saplings in a celebratory atmosphere under the chief hospitality of Union Home Minister Amit Shah. Chief Minister Dr. Yadav has congratulated and thanked all the citizens of Indore, public representatives, government organizations and all the people and institutions who participated in this noble work.
This certificate was given by the officials of Guinness Book of World Records in the evening at Revati Range. On this occasion, Urban Administration Minister Kailash Vijayvargiya, Water Resources Minister Tulsiram Silawat, Mayor Pushyamitra Bhargava, MP Shankar Lalwani along with MLAs and public representatives were present.
Citizens gathered to create history in Revati Range
Under the campaign 'Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam', Indore residents gathered since morning to create a world record at Revati Range, Indore on Sunday. A record 11 lakh saplings were planted here till evening. The program started by blowing the conch at 6 am at BSF Revati Range. Urban Development and Housing Minister Kailash Vijayvargiya, Mayor Pushyamitra Bhargav inaugurated the tree-planting program after performing ritualistic worship. In the afternoon, Union Home Minister Amit Shah planted a Peepal tree in the memory of his mother, late Kusum Ben Shah.
Water Resources Minister Tulsiram Silawat reviewed the preparations and arrangements for plantation. Collector Ashish Singh and Municipal Corporation Commissioner Shivam Verma also planted saplings. 9 zones and 100 sub-zones were created for plantation in Revati Range. BSF, various societies, social organizations, educational institutions, youth, NCC and school students etc. participated in the tree plantation campaign. All planted saplings with full enthusiasm. Minister Kailash Vijayvargiya encouraged the people of the society, representatives of organizations, youth, all to participate in the tree plantation campaign through the control room at the plantation site. On this occasion, children, youth, elderly, women and men participated in the campaign with full enthusiasm.
Environment lovers, who arrived in different groups, filled the entire atmosphere with a festive tone by raising slogans for plantation and environmental protection. Many people reached Revati Range with drums and placards carrying slogans for environmental protection. All planted saplings with great enthusiasm. All arrangements including drinking water, food, medical team, control room, vehicle parking etc. were made at the plantation site. A team of volunteers along with officers and employees were also deployed for each arrangement.
