Indore, August 28 (HS). A unique example of cleanliness and cooperation was seen in Indore on Wednesday. The Mayor, along with other public representatives, Collector, Municipal Corporation Commissioner and other public representatives presented a unique example of cooperation with Safai Mitras. On Wednesday, they held brooms in their hands and cleaned the city. Full cooperation of common citizens was also received in this work.
It is noteworthy that Veer Gogadev Navami, the deity of the Valmiki community, was celebrated in the entire city on Tuesday, 27 August. A large number of Safai Mitras participate in the programs organized on this occasion and there was a holiday for them on the second day i.e. Wednesday, 28 August. Keeping in mind that the cleaning system in the city should not be interrupted during this period and it should continue uninterrupted, Mayor Pushyamitra Bhargava along with other public representatives and Collector Ashish Singh, Municipal Corporation Commissioner Shivam Verma held brooms in their hands and set an example of cleanliness by cleaning. City residents participated in the cleanliness drive with brooms under the leadership of the Mayor. Various organizations also participated along with public representatives/citizens in cleaning the roads of Indore.
There are more than eight thousand permanent and temporary sanitation workers in Indore Municipal Corporation, who clean the 2500 km long roads and lanes of the city every day and make the city free of dirt. The garbage from the roads is collected, loaded into vehicles and taken to the trenching ground. The sanitation workers remain on leave on Goga Navami. Seven years ago, for the first time in the country, Indore got the first place in cleanliness. After this, Safai Mitras, social and other organizations of the city also joined the cleanliness campaign. Cleaning work was done on a large scale from the Rajwada area, the statue site of Maa Ahilya Bai, to various colonies, neighborhoods, religious places, public squares and other areas of the city.
