Indore, June 27 (HS). Under the direction of Collector Ashish Singh, the Excise Department is running a campaign and taking action against those who illegally buy/sell, transport and store liquor in Indore district. In this sequence, in a major action on Thursday, 360 bottles of BIO and medium range expensive liquor of more than 30 brands worth more than 11 lakh rupees were seized. The accused has been arrested in this case. Along with this, cases were registered by taking action at 35 other places and 212 liters of Desi/Foreign/Hand-made liquor was seized.
Assistant Excise Commissioner Manish Khare said that under the guidance of Excise Controller RH Pachauri, strict action is being taken against illegal liquor. On the basis of an information, Arun Singh Chauhan alias Sonu was arrested from a house located near Bhanwarkuan on Thursday. It was told that this person delivers high range liquor to homes. The Excise team raided his house and the adjacent house and recovered high range and medium range liquor. Which includes BIO liquor, Jack Daniel, Monkey Shoulder, Jameson, Johnny Walker, Double Black, Black Level, Red Label, Blonde, Jake Daniel, Old Monk, Absolute Vodka, Valentine Jagermaster, Tancuri Gin, Glenfitinch, Glenlevit, Chivas Regal, medium range Royal Ranthambore, Teacher Highland, 100 Piper, Bacardi Rum, Oaksmith, Bombay Sapphire, Blenders Pride, Bailey, American Pride, Oakenglow, Magic Moment, Royal Challenge, All Season etc., which together total 360 bottles, total 270 bulk liters, foreign liquor spirit is included, whose value is about 11 lakh rupees. The said bottles were seized. The accused has been arrested and a case has been registered against him under Madhya Pradesh Excise Act and investigation has been taken up. There is a possibility of more accused being involved in the case.
Apart from this, other teams formed in the district also took action against various places selling illegal liquor, hotels, dhabas from Wednesday to Thursday morning. A total of 35 cases were registered under various sections of the Madhya Pradesh Excise Act. In these, 212.45 liters of Desi/Foreign/Hathbhatti Mandira were seized and 1650 kg of Mahua Lahan was seized and destroyed. The estimated market value of all the seized material is Rs 2 lakh 10 thousand. This type of action by the Excise Department on the manufacture, transportation, storage and sale of illegal liquor will continue continuously.
