Dehradun, June 13 (HS). A tribute meeting was organized at Congress Bhawan on Thursday on the third death anniversary of senior Congress leader Indira Hridayesh. During this, Congress workers celebrated Indira Hridayesh's death anniversary as Mahila Samman Diwas. The workers paid floral tribute to the picture of late Indira Hridayesh and remembered her contribution to the development of the state.
Congress Metropolitan President Dr. Jaswinder Singh Gogi said that late Indira Hridayesh entered politics as a teacher leader. After the formation of Uttarakhand state, she was the first opposition leader of the state during the interim government. When the Congress government was formed in 2002, she laid a strong foundation for the infrastructural structure of the new Uttarakhand state while handling important ministries like the Public Works Department.
Gogi said that late Indira Hridayesh was a brilliant speaker and had deep knowledge of parliamentary rules and traditions. Apart from Congress workers, teachers also have a special place for Indira Hridayesh in their hearts.
