According to the belief of Udaya Tithi, Indira Ekadashi fast this year 6 October 2026, Tuesday Will be kept on the same day. The fast will be broken as per the rules after sunrise on Dwadashi Tithi.

According to Hindu religious scriptures, Ekadashi fast can be observed by a person of any age, gender or marital status. There is no restriction of any kind in this. According to religious beliefs and traditions, on the Ekadashi tithi falling during Pitru Paksha, Shraddha and Tarpan are mainly performed for those ancestors who died on the Ekadashi tithi of any paksha. This special Shraddha is also known as ‘Ekadashi Shraddha’ or ‘Gyaras Shraddha’. Along with worshiping Lord Vishnu on this day, remembering the ancestors also brings peace to the souls who died untimely death.
