Bhadohi, 15 October (Hindustan Reporter). The 47th International Carpet Fair was inaugurated in Bhadohi, Uttar Pradesh on Tuesday by Giriraj Singh, Cabinet and Textiles Minister in the Central Government. During this, he said that the textile industry in India will reach 35 thousand crore US dollars by the year 2030. More than 500 importers from 67 countries are participating in the expo.

During the inauguration of the 47th Carpet Expo Mart in Bhadohi, Union Textile Minister Giriraj Singh said that the Government of India has set a target of exports of 100 billion dollars by 2030, the role of carpet industry will be important in achieving this target.

Shri Singh said that currently the textile industry is worth $170 million which will be brought to $350 billion by 2030. With this increase in the textile ministry, 20 lakh million tonnes of yarn will be required. In this, the demand for natural viscose and reproduced yarn will increase in the coming days.

He said that the carpet exporter organization should prepare its action plan keeping this in mind. Giving advice, he said that the carpet industry should work on a plan to take its business from Rs 16 thousand crore to Rs 50 thousand crore. Carpet and carpet are cousins. We will cooperate at every level for the development of this industry that provides employment to people.

He said that the carpet is the heritage of Bhadohi and Türkiye is nothing in front of us. We will have to work to take our legacy forward by using technology. Enhance your heritage by bringing new patterns in design. To reduce the cost of products, a wool mill should be set up in Bhadohi for raw production and a raw material bank should also be established.

Emphasizing on technology, Giriraj Singh said that both the central and state governments are ready for cooperation. He announced that within 6 months, work is being done on a new fiber which will be prepared from jute and bamboo.

Regarding the development of textile industry, he said that production should be at the manufacturing location to reduce logistics costs. He said that the raw material for the industry here comes from Gujarat to Bikaner and from Bikaner to Bhadohi. This increases the price and the way to reduce it is to manufacture the raw material here.

He said that the demand for cheap carpets is increasing in the world and there is a need to pay attention to this. Singh said that more than 500 importer representatives from 67 countries and 260 exporters from different parts of the country are participating in the four-day fair organized in Bhadohi.
