India's opening batsman said goodbye to the cricket world, made his debut under the captaincy of Dhoni

Due to not getting much opportunities in the Indian team, another player has announced his retirement. 38-year-old Faiz Fazal has said goodbye to international and first-class cricket. He made his ODI debut in 2016 under the leadership of former Indian captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni. But he could play only 1 ODI match for India. However, Faiz Fazal has had an illustrious first-class and List-A career. It was under the captaincy of Faiz Fazal that Vidarbha won the first Ranji Trophy title.

Faiz Fazal announced his retirement through social media. While sharing an emotional post on social media, he wrote that it is an honor for me to represent India and Vidarbha. I will step onto the same ground in Nagpur where I last made my debut in first-class cricket 21 years ago. Faiz Fazal thanked all his colleagues who supported him in this journey. After this he thanked the coach, physio and trainer and especially the ground staff, who supported me in this journey.

Faiz Fazal further wrote in his post that I will always cherish the memories I made on the field. He said that the number 24 jersey will be missed a lot. Let us tell you that Faiz played his last Ranji match against Haryana. In which his colleagues gave him a guard of honour. However, he failed to make a big impact in his last innings. He returned to the pavilion without opening an account in his last first-class innings.

Debuted for India under the captaincy of Dhoni

Faiz Fazal made his ODI debut for India against Zimbabwe in 2016. In which this opening batsman scored a half-century in the very first match of his career. Opening the innings with KL Rahul, he played a brilliant inning of 55 runs in 61 balls. But after this he did not get a chance to play in the Indian team again. Faiz's record in first class cricket has been excellent. He scored 9183 runs in 137 first-class matches. Meanwhile his average was 41.36. Faiz also scored 24 centuries and 39 half-centuries in first-class cricket. He has also scored 3641 runs in 113 List-A matches. In which he scored 10 centuries and 22 half-centuries.

Faiz Fazal's IPL career

Faiz Fazal made his IPL debut for Rajasthan Royals in 2010. However, he failed to make a big impact in this league. He got a chance to play 12 matches for Rajasthan Royals between 2010 and 2011. In which he scored only 183 runs at an average of 18.3. Faiz played his last IPL match in 2011 against Kochi Tuskers Kerala. After which he was never seen in IPL.
