This most expensive mango of India is cultivated in the heart of the country i.e. Madhya Pradesh. These mangoes are not sold by the kilo. The price of one mango of this variety is Rs 1200. This special mango is grown in Alirajpur of MP. The surprising thing is that there are only 3 mangoes in this mango.

The Mango Mahotsav held in Bhopal last year featured varieties of mangoes including Sundarja, Chausa, Langra, Dussehri, Mallika and Amrapali mangoes. Noorjahan Kerry to be held in Alirajpur was also displayed in this exhibition. Rumal Baghel of Kathiwada, Alirajpur told that the weight of this mango is 2 kg. The name of this mango is Noorjahan. This mango is not only of Madhya Pradesh but is a unique mango of the country.

Noorjahan mangoes are not found anywhere in the entire country except MP. Rumal Baghel, the producer of this mango, said that only 100 mangoes are produced here in a year. Demand to buy these mangoes is coming from many big cities including Mumbai and Delhi. According to Rumal Baghel, Noorjahan mangoes were grown in Afghanistan.

When mango was brought to India between 1577 and 1645, it was named after Mallika Nur Jahan. Some saplings of this mango were brought to Alirajpur in Madhya Pradesh. Since then Noorjahan started mango production here. Only three trees of Noorjahan variety of mango are left in the entire country.
