India’s Constitution is ahead of America in terms of equality and justice: Justice Pradeep Kumar Srivastava

Lucknow, 26 November (HS). On the occasion of 75th Constitution Day, a seminar and photo exhibition was organized on behalf of Central Bureau of Communications, Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, Government of India, Lucknow on Tuesday at the Chair of Law Studies of Babasaheb Bhimrao Ambedkar University. The importance of the Constitution, the journey of its creation and its impact were discussed in the programme.

Justice Pradeep Kumar Srivastava, Chairman of Uttar Pradesh State Law Commission, said in his address that the Constitution of India is ahead of America in terms of equality and justice. He said that the entire Constitution is contained in the Preamble of the Constitution.

Addressing the program, Vice Chancellor of Dr. Ram Manohar Lohia National Law University, Professor Dr. Amar Pal Singh said that under the guidance of the Constitution, India will soon become the largest economy in the world.

Professor Dr. Vinita Kachar of Lucknow University said that the Constitution is not just a document but a lamp that shows light to the country. He said that due to the transparency inherent in the Constitution, Indian women have held high positions like President, Prime Minister, and Speaker of the Lok Sabha.

BBAU Professor Dr. Sudarshan Verma, while congratulating on the Constitution Day, said that the Constitution prepared on 26 November 1949 not only guides the government to rules but also guides its objectives. He praised the contribution of Babasaheb Dr. Bhimrao Ambedkar, who drafted the Constitution in two years, 11 months and 18 days, which became the foundation of a strong and empowered India.

On this occasion, Central Communication Bureau Director Officer Manoj Kumar Verma said that “The Constitution is the soul of this country. Along with providing us with rights, it also reminds us of our duties.” He appealed to see the photo exhibition based on the journey of the making of the Constitution.

Scholars, professors and students of the Chair of Legal Studies actively participated in the seminar and resolved to imbibe the spirit of the Constitution.
