Indians dominate ICC test rankings, Bumrah again number 1 bowler, Yashasvi-Kohli also benefit

Jasprit Bumrah has again become the number 1 bowler in the rankings released on Wednesday. Yashasvi Jaiswal and Virat Kohli have also benefited in this ranking. India’s star bowler Bumrah has achieved the best ranking of his career for the second time due to his brilliant performance against Australia in Perth. He has again become the number 1 bowler in the latest ICC men’s Test bowler rankings.

Bumrah took 8 wickets during India’s 295-run win in the first match of the Border-Gavaskar Trophy held as part of the ICC World Test Championship Series. He was the ‘Player of the Match’ in the match. With this performance, Bumrah has jumped two places from his old ranking. He has left behind South African fast bowler Kagiso Rabada and Australian fast bowler Josh Hazlewood. Thus he has once again captured the Test bowling throne of the ICC rankings.

Bumrah reached the top for the first time by taking 9 (6+3) wickets in the Visakhapatnam Test against England in February 2024. He then came out on top again in the series against Bangladesh in October, but has been overtaken by Kagiso Rabada in recent weeks.

Yashasvi Jaiswal who will leave Root behind

England’s legend Joe Root is still at number 1 in the rankings of Test batsmen. But Yashasvi Jaiswal is now challenging him in the rankings. Now Yashasvi Jaiswal has become the number 2 Test batsman in the latest rankings. He scored a brilliant century in the second innings against Australia. Which proved to be the turning point in the Perth Test. Thanks to this historic innings, he climbed two places to second place. On the other hand, he also achieved his career-best 825 rating points, which is slightly behind Joe Root’s 78 rating points.

Australian left-handed batsman Travis Head has moved up three places to 10th position after his innings of 89 runs in Perth.
