Women's T20 World Cup 2024: Team India failed miserably in the first match of T20 World Cup 2024. In the match against New Zealand in Dubai, the Indian team lost in a one-sided fashion by 58 runs. In which New Zealand, batting first, scored 160 runs and Team India scored 100 runs in front of it. The Indian team, adorned with batsmen, was desperate for sixes and fours, but the result ultimately went against the team.
Harmanpreet scored the maximum 15 runs
In the match held in Dubai, Shefali Verma was the first to get out after scoring 2 runs. While Mandhana scored 12 runs, Harmanpreet Kaur scored only 15 runs and Jemimah Rodrigues scored only 13 runs. Along with this, Richa Ghosh was out after scoring 12 runs and Deepti Sharma was out after scoring 13 runs. The strike rate of 4 out of the top 6 batsmen of Team India was less than 100. The thing to think about is how poor the Indian batting must have been against New Zealand, when the Indian team was able to play only 19 overs and score 102 runs. New Zealand performed brilliantly
The New Zealand team performed brilliantly in Dubai. Most importantly, after captain Sophie Devine won the toss, Suzie Bates and Plimmer gave the team a great start. Both players together scored 67 runs. After this, captain Divine scored 57 runs in the middle order and the team's score reached 160 runs.
