Indian Railways' focus on general class, preparations to make ten thousand new coaches – Ashwini Vaishnav

New Delhi, July 5 (HS). Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnav on Friday reiterated that Indian Railways is committed to providing affordable rail travel facilities to the poor, lower middle and middle class people during a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signing ceremony at Rail Bhavan.

He said that Indian Railways has planned to manufacture 10,000 non-AC coaches during the next two years. It was also informed that the minister also highlighted the ongoing efforts to enhance the quality of service, safety and hygiene in railway operations.

Ashwini Vaishnav also appealed to the 12 lakh railway workers across the country to work with dedication and keep their morale high. At the same time, he urged the railway workers to work collectively and ensure that people's trust in Indian Railways remains intact.

Indian Railways' Gati Shakti University (GSV) Vadodara and Airbus today signed an MoU to significantly strengthen the Indian aviation sector. Following the MoU (Memorandum of Understanding) signed in September 2023, a definitive agreement was signed today between Remi Maillard (President and Managing Director, Airbus India and South Asia) and Prof. Manoj Chaudhary (Vice Chancellor, Gati Shakti University).

The agreement includes a full scholarship program for 40 GSV students for the entire program duration, the establishment of a Center of Excellence at GSV, and the Airbus Aviation Chair Professor position at GSV. In addition, GSV and Airbus will partner for executive training for working professionals in the aviation sector.
