Neighbouring country Sri Lanka has given a great news to Indian passport holders. The neighbouring country has announced visa-free access for residents of many countries, including India. As per the announcement, Indian travellers will soon start getting visa-free access to Sri Lanka.
35 countries will get benefits for 6 months
According to a report by news agency PTI, Sri Lanka has announced visa-free access facility for 35 countries. These include countries like India, America and Britain. This change is going to be implemented from October 1. It is being implemented for 6 months. This change has been approved by the cabinet of the Sri Lankan government.
Apart from India, travelers from these countries also benefit
The report quoted Sri Lankan Tourism Minister Harin Fernando as saying that from October 1, travelers from 35 countries will not need a visa to travel to Sri Lanka. This policy is for six months. The countries whose people are going to get the benefit of this facility include India, America and Britain, apart from China, Germany, Netherlands, Belgium, Spain, Australia, Denmark, Poland, Kazakhstan, Saudi Arabia, United Arab Emirates, Nepal, Indonesia, Russia and Thailand.
Facility for passport holders of these countries also
Passport holders of countries like Malaysia, Japan, France, Canada, Czech Republic, Italy, Switzerland, Austria, Israel, Belarus, Iran, Sweden, South Korea, Qatar, Oman, Bahrain and New Zealand will also get visa-free access to Sri Lanka for 6 months.
Indians are not charged for visa

Just a few days ago, the visa-on-arrival fee was increased in Sri Lanka, which created a controversy. The visa-on-arrival facility in Sri Lanka was being handled by a foreign company. People from India, China, Japan, Russia, Malaysia, Thailand and Indonesia get tourist visas in Sri Lanka without any fee.
