Indian Passport Holders: Yes, you read it right! From December 1, 2023, Indian tourists will be able to travel to Malaysia without any visa. Malaysia has made this brilliant announcement, which will give a lot of boost to traffic and tourism between India and Malaysia.

What was the rule earlier?
Till now Indians had to either have to take e-visas to go to Malaysia or pay a fee for ‘Visa on Arrival’ at the airport. But now all these troubles are over, which will not only be cheap but will become much easier.

What are the conditions?
However, there are some important conditions to take advantage of this visa-free facility, which you have to fulfill:

  1. ED Card (Electronic Arrival Card) filling: You have to register ED card online at least three days before your journey. This is an important step!

  2. Confirm return ticket: You should have a confirmed ticket to come back from Malaysia or go to any other country.

  3. Evidence of adequate money: You may have to show proof of having enough money for your stay in Malaysia.

  4. Valid passport: Your passport should be valid for at least 6 months.

  5. Evidence of Housing: You should have proof of stay in Malaysia (eg hotel booking).

What is its importance?
This is not the first time that a country has taken such a big step for Indian tourists. Earlier, Sri Lanka and Thailand have also started a visa-free travel facility for Indian tourists. This shows how important India is becoming in the international tourism market.

Malaysia hopes that this step will give a lot of boost to tourism there and a large number of people from India will go for a walk, which will also benefit the economy of Malaysia. So what are you thinking now? If you have an Indian passport, then pack your bag and get ready for Malaysia’s Haseen Yatra!
