IIT Madras alumnus Pavan Davuluri has been named the new head of Microsoft Windows and Surface. Davuluri has taken charge of Surface Silicon and Devices. Former President Mikhail Parakhin has led a new team focused on Windows and the web experience. Davuluri is now at the helm of both Windows and Surface as Parkin has decided to seek new roles.

Davuluri, a 23-year Microsoft veteran who has worked across PC and Xbox hardware, Surface, Windows and silicon, led the production team and worked on the software and hardware playbooks.

Who is Pawan Davuluri?

After IIT, Davuluri went to Maryland University, America. He began his career at Microsoft as a Reliability Component Manager and in 2021 became Corporate VP for Windows and Silly Con & System Integration. He took on the role of corporate VP for Windows Plus Devices last year.

The information comes from an internal memo from Microsoft's experience and devices chief Rajesh Jha, which outlines the new Windows organization. This will enable us to take a holistic approach to building silicon, systems, experiences and devices spanning Windows clients and the cloud for today's AI era, Jha said in the memo.
