The Fed Reserve of America has a gold reserve of 8133 tonnes, while Germany has a gold reserve of 3553 tonnes, Italy has a gold reserve of 2452 tonnes. And the RBI has a gold reserve of 800 tonnes. India ranks ninth in the world in terms of gold reserves.
How much gold does India have?
Indian families have more than 25 thousand tonnes of gold. According to a report released by Price Water Housekeeper, Indian families have a large amount of gold available. Which is almost three times the total gold reserves of America. The total value of gold lying in the homes of Indian families is about Rs 126 lakh crore. As of March 2024, there was 822 tonnes of gold in the wallet of the Gold Reserve Bank of the Government of India. Out of which 408 tonnes of gold is in India, while more than 413 tonnes of gold is stored abroad. Most of India's gold is stored in the Reserve Bank of England and the UK-based Bank of International Settlements.

By June 2024, America had a gold reserve of about 8000 tonnes. Which is 75 percent of America's total reserves. The value of which is shown as Rs. 44.52 lakh crore (543 billion dollars). Whereas Indians have gold worth Rs. 126 lakh crore.
