Indian government on alert due to new virus spreading in China, called meeting, sought report from WHO

HMPV Virus: The central government has become alert regarding the new virus spreading in China for the last few days. The Union Health Ministry has called a meeting on this issue. According to the Health Ministry, we are closely monitoring the situation in China. Apart from this, WHO has been requested to provide accurate information on the status of this virus.

According to the agency’s report, the Ministry said that the Indian Health Service is fully prepared to face any situation. No increase in such cases has been seen in India.

The Health Ministry issued a statement on Saturday informing people about the human metapneumovirus. The ministry said that there is no need to worry. The central government is keeping a close watch on this matter. Such cases increase in this season. As far as China is concerned, the situation there is not worrisome.

The ministry said that reports regarding this virus indicate that the current increase in cases is mainly influenza virus, ASV and HMPV. Which is a common disease and shows effect in winter.

Before this, Director General of Health Services, Dr. Atul Goyal assured the people that there is nothing to worry about the current situation and appealed to the people to be cautious.

What is this new virus?

According to the information, the symptoms of this virus are also similar to Corona. The name of this new virus is Human Metapneumovirus (HMPV) which is an RNA virus. Whoever gets infected with this virus shows symptoms similar to Corona. Most of the children are coming under this balcony. Children up to 2 years of age are becoming its biggest victims.

According to the China Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), symptoms include cough, fever, nasal congestion and sore throat. Apart from HMPV, cases of influenza A, microplasma, pneumonia and corona are also being reported. In which the number of patients is continuously increasing.
