Dhaka, 09 December (HS). Indian Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri arrived in Dhaka this morning for the first high-level meeting between India and Bangladesh. He will hold a meeting with his Bangladeshi counterpart Mohammad Jasim Uddin today. This information was given by The Daily Star newspaper. Diplomatic sources confirmed that a special Indian Air Force flight carrying Egyptian and other officials landed at Dhaka airport at around 9:00 am.
Vikram Misri and Bangladesh Foreign Secretary Jashim Uddin will meet at the State Guest House at 11:00 am. Misri is scheduled to meet Chief Advisor Muhammad Yunus at the State Guest House in Jamuna before leaving for Dhaka tonight. It is expected that the meeting will discuss reducing the tension in bilateral relations that emerged after the overthrow of the Awami League government through the mass uprising on August 5.
