London, May 9 (Hindustan Reporter) Indian fast bowler Siddharth Kaul will join Northamptonshire on a short-term deal for the next three County Championship fixtures.
“Siddharth has taken 284 first-class wickets, 16 first-class five-wicket hauls and is looking forward to playing for his new county,” Northamptonshire said in an official statement.
The 33-year-old Kaul featured in three T20s and three ODIs in 2018, failing to take a wicket twice against England at Trent Bridge and Lord's. Recently, Kaul represented Punjab in the Ranji Trophy, taking 15 wickets at a season average of 31.26.
Quoting Northamptonshire, Kaul said, “I am very happy to be here to represent Northamptonshire and very excited to help the team win matches and push for promotion. I am confident that I will bring my positive mindset and experience to help my teammates win in any situation in the match.”
Chris joins the Indian team following the end of Tremain's four-match stint and head coach John Sadler is excited to see what he can do during his tenure with the club.
“Sid has a lot of experience with the ball, has played a lot of first-class cricket and is looking forward to making a big impact when he joins the team,” Sadler said.
“He has just finished his domestic season in India where he has hit some good form, so hopefully he can continue that with us as well,” he said.
Kaul is available for immediate selection and could play in Northamptonshire's next match against Gloucestershire at Wantage Road on 10 May.
