Washington: 40-year-old Indian doctor Umar Ijaz, who lives in Rochester Hills area of ​​Oakland County in the US state of Michigan, was arrested on August 8 for storing nude photos of women and children. Hidden cameras have been installed in hospitals for years. Police came to know about the crimes of her doctor husband when the doctor's wife came forward with the disturbing material. The doctor, who is a father of two sons and has no previous criminal record, has been set on a bond of twenty million dollars.

Oakland County Sheriff Mike Bouchard said that thousands of videos have been recovered from the doctor's house. Police have found 13,000 videos on a single hard drive. It will take months to investigate them. This doctor's act is being compared to the sex scandal committed earlier by sports doctor Larry Nassar.

Police issued several warrants after arresting the doctor on August 8 and seized six computers, four phones and fifteen external devices. Ajaz has been charged on August 13 with sexually abusing children, taking nude photos and using a computer to commit a crime. Oakland County Prosecutor Karen MacDonald said Ajaz sought his victims in prestigious institutions and hospitals. In 2023, he took pictures of children and their mothers in the changing room of the Goldfish Swimming Club. The doctor's victims range from two-year-old babies to women.

Ejaz came to the US from India on a work visa in 2011. He lived in Alabama after doing a residency at Sinai Grace Hospital. He returned to Michigan in 2018. He also worked at Henry Ford Macomb Hospital in Clinton Township and Ascension Genesis Hospital in Grand Block. He currently works as a contract physician in a company where he is sent to various hospitals. The number of victims of this doctor's scam is so large that the police have created a special email address for people to contact the authorities and give them the necessary information.
