Indian cueist Anupama reached Chennai after winning gold medal in Senior Asian Women's Snooker Tournament

Chennai, July 8 (HS). Anupama Ramachandran was given a warm welcome at the Chennai airport after winning the gold medal in the Senior Asian Women's Snooker Tournament held in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. The tournament was held from July 1 to 5.
The tournament was held in a knockout-and-league format.

Anupama won the title by defeating Thailand's Panchaya Channai 3-1 in the title match. In the 3-1 win, Anupama did not start as expected against her opponent. She was initially 1-0 behind but bounced back to win 3-1.

Anupama defeated fellow Indian cueist Keerthana Pandian 3-0 in the semi-finals to seal her place in the final.
Anupama won the gold medal in the women's category, while India's top cueist Pankaj Advani fell short in his quest for a hat-trick of titles at the 2024 Asian Billiards Championships when he lost 2-5 in the final round against his opponent Dhruv Sitwala of India. Dhruv started the match in a brilliant manner and scored 103 points, while Pankaj struggled to find space on the board. Dhruv dominated the game and won the title.
