India's star female cricketer Jemimah Rodrigues is embroiled in a controversy where her father Ivan Rodrigues has been accused of serious allegations by Mumbai's famous Khar Gymkhana Club. The club claimed that the Indian cricketer's father was using the club's premises to conduct religious activities. Now Jemima is facing allegations against her father, where the club has canceled her membership.
Jemima's honorary membership was revoked
Club President Vivek Devnani said that Jemima's three-year honorary membership has been cancelled. According to a report, club officials were forced to take strict action after members raised objections over the recent activities of Jemima's father. The report said Ivan used the club premises to host religious events to 'hide sensitive people'. Jemima's membership was canceled after the Annual General Body meeting on Sunday. Notably, Jemima became the first Indian female cricketer to receive the honorary membership of Khar Gymkhana in 2023.
Organized 35 programs
Another Gymkhana official said Jemima's father had used the premises for about one and a half years to organize 35 events as part of the organisation. Shiv Malhotra, a member of the management committee of Khar Gymkhana, said, 'We learned that Jemimah Rodriguez's father was associated with an organization called Brother Manuel Ministries. They booked the premises for about one and a half years and organized 35 events. We all know what was happening there.
Jemima's cricket career
Talking about Jemima's career, till now she has represented India in three Tests, 30 ODIs and 104 T20 matches. In this, their names are 235, 710 and 2142 runs respectively. Jemima, one of the prominent faces of the Indian women's cricket team, was part of Team India in the Women's T20 World Cup in the UAE earlier this month.
