Indian cricketer implicated in fixing charges, Sri Lankan court orders to surrender passport

Uproar over two Indian cricketers being accused of fixing

Two Indian cricketers have been accused of match fixing. Sri Lankan court has ordered two Indian cricketers to surrender their passports. Both these Indian cricketers have been accused of match fixing in the Legends Cricket League. According to media reports, the names of these two Indian cricketers are Yoni Patel and P. These two cricketers are accused of fixing the match between Rajasthan Kings and New York Super Strikers.

Both cricketers cannot leave Sri Lanka without permission

According to information received from sources, Yoni Patel and P. Akash fixed the matches played on March 8 and March 19. This match was played at Pallakele Stadium in Sri Lanka. However, after this charge Yoni Patel and P. Akash cannot leave Sri Lanka without the permission of the Magistrate Court. Also, due to the match fixing law in Sri Lanka, there is a possibility of increasing problems for both of them.

Laws are strict regarding match fixing in Sri Lanka

It is noteworthy that the laws related to match fixing in Sri Lanka are strict. Match fixing is considered a crime in Sri Lankan law. If found guilty of match fixing in Sri Lanka, the punishment can be up to 10 years in jail or a fine. Also, both 10 years imprisonment or fine are possible. However, the Legends Cricket League has no official affiliation with the Sri Lanka Cricket Board or the ICC. But big players from many countries including India play in this league.
