The Indian Coast Guard (ICG) is very active in maritime security. Eagles keep an eye on every place. Meanwhile, the Coast Guard has achieved great success. Security forces have seized two Bangladeshi fishing boats that entered Indian waters illegally. Along with this, 78 Bangladeshi fishermen have also been detained.

It is being told that the Indian Coast Guard ship was doing regular patrolling near the International Maritime Boundary Line (IMBL). Meanwhile, the Indian Coast Guard received information about suspicious activity in the Indian maritime zone. After which the security forces started investigation without waiting much. Investigation revealed that two Bangladeshi fishing boats ‘FV Laila-2’ and ‘FV Meghna-5’ were fishing in Indian territory without permission.
Both boats are registered in Bangladesh
After this, the Indian Coast Guard took immediate action and stopped both these boats and searched them. In which both the boats were found registered in Bangladesh, 41 and 37 Bangladeshi citizens were present in these two boats. The ICG has taken the fishermen present in both the boats into custody and handed over all the fishermen to the concerned authorities for further action.
Illegal activities are being closely monitored
This has been a major success for the Indian Coast Guard. The Coast Guard has described the operation as a remarkable success. Officials say that this step is not just to protect Indian maritime assets, but also to keep a close watch on illegal activities. The officials clarified that such actions will continue in future also to prevent and curb illegal activities. However, this is not the first time that Bangladeshi fishermen have illegally entered Indian waters. Even before this, the Indian Coast Guard has caught many Bangladeshi fishermen.
