Jammu, 7 December (Hindustan Reporter). The Indian Army, under the Defense Ministry, is fencing more than 50 villages along the Line of Control (LoC) in Rajouri to prevent infiltration and smuggling of arms, ammunition and contraband. BJP Jammu and Kashmir Executive Member Raman Suri lauded the initiative and emphasized its role in ensuring security and improving the lives of border residents.

He said the fencing, now more than 50 per cent complete, will prevent infiltrators from taking shelter in villagers’ homes and enable safe movement within the area. Suri highlighted plans to promote border tourism in which tourists will stay in local homes, thereby promoting cultural exchange and economic development.

Suri praised the BJP government for achieving what previous governments could not do. He credited Prime Minister Narendra Modi for giving priority to national security and public welfare. He said that this project will bring lasting peace and prosperity in Jammu and Kashmir.
