Indian Army to host second edition of Global Chanakya Defense Dialogue

The second edition of the international seminar 'Chanakya Defense Dialogue' will be held on October 24 and 25 at the Manekshaw Center in the capital, which will be hosted by the Indian Army. The theme this time has been 'Inspiring Nation Building: Promoting Development through Comprehensive Security'. This high-profile event will feature important discussions in the context of national and international policies, aimed at formulating visionary strategies for sustainable and inclusive development.

According to the Defense Ministry, the two-day event will bring together a group of policy makers, strategic thinkers, academicians, defense personnel, veterans, scientists and SMEs from India and abroad, including key speakers from the United States, Russia, Israel and Sri Lanka. Will be. Defense Minister Rajnath Singh will inaugurate the event as the chief guest. He will deliver the keynote address on 'India's vision for development and security', emphasizing the importance of comprehensive security in achieving the goal of a developed India by 2047. Chief of Army Staff General Upendra Dwivedi will also address the audience, highlighting the important contribution of the Indian Army in nation building.

The Chanakya Defense Dialogue will feature six sessions led by experts, each focusing on important aspects of comprehensive security. The first session will feature an in-depth discussion on the changing geopolitical landscape, exploring India's strategic position as a growing global power. The second session will examine how economic growth and national security are interconnected and consider the importance of a resilient economy in maintaining a strong defense posture. With the growing global focus on climate change, the third session will discuss the need to balance economic growth with environmental sustainability.

The fourth session of Chanakya Defense Dialogue will focus on the importance of social cohesion and inclusive development for national security. The panel will examine how internal security can be strengthened by promoting social cohesion, eliminating economic disparities and promoting inclusive growth across all sections of society. The fifth session will discuss integration of emerging technologies into the national security framework. The sixth and concluding session will focus on the future of land warfare and how the Indian Army can adopt advanced technologies to enhance battlefield readiness. The panelists will also explain how India can promote domestic defense technologies under the self-reliant initiative.

On the second day of Chanakya Defense Dialogue, ISRO Chairman Dr. S. Somnath will give a special address on the importance of the Indian space sector. Ms. Ruchira Kamboj, former Permanent Representative of India to the United Nations, will share insights on India's emerging position in a multipolar world and the need for stronger diplomatic measures to protect national interests. The dialogue will conclude with the address by Deputy Army Chief Lieutenant General NS Raja Subramani. The event will influence India's strategic direction on national security and development, helping shape a secure and prosperous future for the nation.
