Reasi, May 28 (HS). With an aim to provide basic medical aid in remote villages, the Indian Army organized a medical and veterinary camp on Tuesday at Sarsote village of Reasi district.
The camps were organised mainly keeping in mind the large number of animals and cattle present in the area and the lack of veterinary facilities during their summer migration. A team of Army and civil doctors conducted medical check-up and treatment of the animals.
Doctors and veterinary assistant surgeons and senior veterinary pharmacists from Livestock Development Office (AH Department), Dharamari, Reasi were also present during the camp. The camp played a huge role in helping the citizens as animal husbandry remains the primary occupation of the people of the area. Gujjars and Bakkarwals benefited immensely from the camps.
