LAC patrolling: Indian and Chinese armies have agreed to conduct weekly coordinated patrolling in Demchok and Depsang areas of Eastern Ladakh sector and have completed one round of patrolling there. Following the withdrawal of troops in both Demchok and Dapsang in the last week of October, both sides began coordinated patrolling in the first week of the month. Both sides have agreed to conduct one patrol every week in Dapsang and Dapsang.

Both armies will patrol both areas
Defense sources said each area will have one patrol by Indian troops and one patrol by Chinese troops. After several rounds of talks at political, diplomatic and military levels, both sides agreed to disengage troops from Depsang and Demchok in eastern Ladakh along the Line of Actual Control. The Indian and Chinese sides will continue to hold Ground Commander level talks in these areas at regular intervals.

The four-year military standoff ended in October.
Both sides have also conducted verification patrols to ensure withdrawal of troops after reaching an agreement. In the last week of October, India and China began withdrawing troops from two disputed points in the Demchok and Depsang plains in eastern Ladakh after a four-year military standoff. Let us tell you that relations between India and China became tense after the violent clash in Galwan Valley in June 2020, which led to the most serious military conflict between the two countries in decades.
