Auckland, August 9 (HS). President Draupadi Murmu, who is on a visit to New Zealand, said on Friday that India will soon open a consulate in Auckland to strengthen relations with New Zealand and for the convenience of the NRIs.
Addressing a felicitation function organised by the Indian community in Auckland, President Draupadi Murmu said she was delighted to see the achievements of the Indian community in New Zealand. “India's relations with New Zealand are very deep and multifaceted. The Indian community has played a very important role in New Zealand's development. I am very happy to inform that India will soon open a Consulate in Auckland, fulfilling a long-pending demand of the community,” she said. She expressed hope that this decision will further strengthen diplomatic ties.
