Indian archers performed well in the first phase of the Asia Cup and entered the finals of six team events, ensuring at least six medals for India. These archers also include experienced female archer Deepika Kumari who has made a comeback after 20 months. Three-time Olympian Deepika has made a comeback after becoming a mother. She finished second behind Simranjit Kaur in the women's recurve team event.
In the elimination round, the Indian women's recurve team defeated hosts Iraq to enter the final and will face Uzbekistan for the gold medal. Bhajan Kaur is also included in the women's team. The men's recurve team of Dheeraj Bomdevara, Praveen Jadhav and Tarundeep Rai also defeated Iraq in straight sets and will face Bangladesh in the final. India's Prathamesh Javakar, Priyansh and Kushal Dalal defeated Iraq 233-223 in the semi-finals to enter the final of the men's compound team event in Harvim and will face Iran in the next medal match.
The team of Aditi Swami, Priya Gurjar and Preneet Kaur won the compound women's team event against Afghanistan by a score of 234-210 and will face Iran in the final. The compound mixed team pair of Javkar and Aditi defeated Bangladesh 157-146 in the last four and will face Iran in the final.
