Kathmandu, 26 July (HS). The trilateral agreement program to be held here on 28 July for Nepal to sell electricity to Bangladesh via India has been postponed for the time being. Due to the student movement that took place in Bangladesh some time ago, it has been agreed to postpone this program with immediate effect.

Energy Ministry spokesperson Naveenraj Singh said that the trilateral agreement program scheduled to be held in Kathmandu on July 28 has been postponed after a written request from the Bangladesh government. Energy Minister Manohar Lal from India and Minister of State for Energy from Bangladesh were scheduled to come for this agreement.

Bangladesh has signed an agreement to buy electricity from Nepal. Nepal has completed preparations to export 400 MW electricity to Bangladesh via India. Regarding this agreement, the Indian government has agreed to build a dedicated transmission line from Panitanki in Jhapa district of Nepal to the Bangladesh border via Siliguri in West Bengal.
