In view of the deteriorating situation in Bangladesh, the hosting of the Women's T20 World Cup to be held from 3 to 20 October can also be taken away. A big update has also come from the ICC regarding this. Due to security reasons, the International Cricket Council (ICC) can take away the hosting of the entire tournament from Bangladesh and hand it over to another country. India is the first choice of the ICC to host this event, while Sri Lanka and UAE are also under consideration to host the tournament.
These options began to be considered
According to a report, ICC has started discussing options for Bangladesh. The entire preparations for this tournament can be done in India and Sri Lanka in a short time. However, there can be rain conditions in Sri Lanka in October while the Pakistani cricket team may face visa related problems in India. In such a situation, UAE has also been kept as an option. If BCCI agrees, then the Pakistani team will not have any problem. In such a situation, the tournament will be organized in India only.
ICC statement
A report claims that the ICC is keeping a close watch on the issue. A board member, on condition of anonymity, said that the ICC has a security monitoring system in all member countries. There are 7 weeks left for the tournament to start and the situation is being monitored very closely. In such a situation, it would be premature to say which country will host the tournament if not Bangladesh.
