Perth, 23 November (HS). On the second day of the first Test match being played here in Perth, in the second innings, openers Yashasvi Jaiswal and KL Rahul have given a great start to India. Both of them have put India in a good position by playing excellent half-century innings. At the end of the day’s play, India had scored 172 runs without any loss. Yashasvi Jaiswal is only 10 runs away from the century and is unbeaten on 90 runs, while KL Rahul is also unbeaten on 62 runs after scoring a brilliant half-century. India’s total lead has become 218 runs.

After bowling out Australia for 104 runs, India got a great start from Yashasvi Jaiswal and KL Rahul. Both of them made the Australian bowlers yearn for wickets. However, the pitch also looked flat in the second innings compared to the first innings, of which the Indian batsmen took full advantage. Till now there has been a partnership of 172 runs between the two for the first wicket.

Mitchell Starc scored the highest 26 runs for Australia in the first innings. Apart from Stork, Alex Carey scored 21, Travis Head scored 11 and McSweeney scored 10 runs.

For India, Jasprit Bumrah took 5 wickets, Harshit Rana took 3 wickets and Mohammad Siraj took 2 wickets.

India scored 150 runs in the first innings

Earlier in the match, Indian captain Jasprit Bumrah won the toss and decided to bat first. The Indian batsmen once again disappointed and the entire team was reduced to only 150 runs. Nitish Reddy scored the highest 41 runs for India. Apart from Nitish, Rishabh Pant scored 37 runs and KL Rahul scored 26 runs.

For Australia, Josh Hazlewood took 4 wickets, Mitchell Starc, Pat Cummins and Mitchell Morsh took 2 wickets each.
