India Germany weapons: India can now easily import weapons from NSG to Navy commandos, Germany lifts the ban

It is noteworthy that this MP5 submachine gun is currently used by the NSG and Marine Commandos (MARCOS) of the Indian Navy. According to the report, Germany has also relaxed its export licensing rules significantly. Due to this, many Indian orders have been approved last month. Even before this, 95 per cent of Indian procurement deals other than small arms were cleared, but the process was time-consuming, leading Germany to streamline the process.

According to the report, defense cooperation between India and Germany is increasing rapidly. The Indian Air Force is looking for a medium transport aircraft (MTA) with a capacity of 18 to 30 tonnes to replace its AN-32, with several global manufacturers including Germany showing interest. Additionally, at the end of October this year, two German ships (possibly a frigate and a tanker) will visit India as part of a larger deployment and participate in some maritime maneuvers with the Indian Navy. Germany is also in talks with India to provide engines for India's light tank programme. However, this is in the early stages and under consideration.
