India alliance gained strength, Hemant Soren again became the Chief Minister of Jharkhand after being released from jail

Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM) working president Hemant Soren was sworn-in as the 13th chief minister of the state at Raj Bhavan on Thursday evening, an official said in a statement.

The official said that Jharkhand Governor CP Radhakrishnan administered the oath of office and secrecy to Hemant Soren at the Raj Bhavan.

Hemant Soren's father and JMM supremo Shibu Soren, his mother Roopi Soren, wife Kalpana Soren and senior leaders of the Jharkhand Mukti Morcha-led alliance were also present at the swearing-in ceremony.

Champai Soren, who resigned as chief minister on Wednesday, was also present at the swearing-in ceremony. Hemant Soren was released from jail on June 28 after the Jharkhand High Court granted him bail in a money laundering case related to an alleged land scam.

In this case, the ED arrested Hemant Soren on January 31. However, he had resigned from the post of Chief Minister of the state even before his arrest. After his resignation, Champai Soren was made the Chief Minister of Jharkhand.
